About Jamestown Village

Jamestown is one of the oldest towns in Guilford County, chartered in 1815, sitting almost exactly halfway between Greensboro and High Point on the Old Salisbury Road corridor. It is small on paper, roughly 3,700 residents inside the town limits, but the school assignment area and the 27282 zip code cover a broader footprint that includes some of the most established family subdivisions in the Triad.

What you feel driving Main Street is the mix of eras. Federal-style homes from the early 1800s still stand between Oakdale and West Main. The Mendenhall Homeplace, on the National Register of Historic Places, anchors the historic district and reminds you this town was here before High Point had a name. Then you turn one block off Main and land in a 1960s brick ranch neighborhood with mature oaks and 0.4-acre lots that would cost twice as much in Adams Farm or Sedgefield.

The buyer I usually send here is looking for three things at once. Room for a family, a school assignment that holds through high school without a bus change, and a commute that works whether the job is in Greensboro or High Point. Jamestown Village delivers all three without asking you to pay a Sedgefield Country Club premium.

Jamestown Park subdivision

Inside the Village of Jamestown, one subdivision comes up more than any other. Jamestown Park was built out primarily from the mid-1960s through the mid-1980s. It sits east of downtown Jamestown along Guilford College Road and the adjacent grid of streets including Deep River, Cedar Park, and Lodge. The homes here are almost all brick — brick ranches, brick split-levels, brick two-story Colonials — sitting on flat lots ranging from a third of an acre to just under an acre.

2026 pricing in Jamestown Park:

  • Original condition 3-bedroom brick ranch: 275,000 to 325,000 dollars
  • Updated 3-bedroom ranch with kitchen and bath renovations: 325,000 to 395,000 dollars
  • Larger 4-bedroom Colonial or split-level with updates: 395,000 to 475,000 dollars
  • Fully renovated homes with additions or premium lots: 475,000 to 550,000 dollars

Most Jamestown Park streets feed to Jamestown Elementary, Jamestown Middle, and Lucy Ragsdale High School. There is no mandatory HOA. The subdivision does not have a community pool, but Wrenn Miller Park and the Bicentennial Greenway are minutes away for outdoor amenities. If you are relocating to the Triad for HPU faculty positions or for a job at a Greensboro employer, Jamestown Park is one of the strongest matches for the buyer who wants brick, land, and school stability in the mid 300s to low 400s.
